Mental health is an incredibly valuable and at the same time fragile system. In today's world, people are faced with a lot of stress and challenges, which can in one degree or another affect mental wellness even if there wasn't genetic predisposition. Mental problems are not just "insanity". There are disorders of varying severity and forms, so different psychiatric medications which influence the chemical makeup of the nervous system may have opposite purposes - from tranquilizing to stimulating.
Anyway, it's very important to remember to care not only about your physical health and appearance but also about the mental and emotional condition. Something that the kind of a strong-willed person could describe as "bad times" in fact may have some serious consequences within the brain.
